Love

"Love-the root of peace" by B. Franklin alumna Manizha Jumaeva Love is the root of peace, friendship, family and harmony .And St. Valentine’s Day is filled with such atmosphere. And for more development and extension the atmosphere of peace and friendship we Manizha Jumaeva alumna of Benjamin Franklin’12 and Zuhro Tolibovna an English teacher took initiative jointly to do some activities with «English club “of our school. On February 14th we spent several at school #2 with 23 members of “English club doing some activities which considered to be both educational and fun devoted to St. Valentine’s Day. First we’d had discussion about origin of this Holiday and it’s meaning to us currently. Fortunately the school-children had sense about it. After that we debated on the theme “what is love?” reading labels of “love” gums. Of course answers we different like these ones“Friendship, support, family, care , share” and so on. Then we had another activity “find words.”It was kind of puzzle game with inclusion of St. Valentine’s Day words like” Valentine, cupid, heart, love ,card” and so on which we prepared beforehand and the task of pupils was to put words in order. It was both logical and fun assignment which immediately focused students ‘attention on it. Then we share with students touching stories about love and life. the student listened to us attentively and condole every hero of story ,which was obvious by the debate that the had about each story. Then we conducted “quiz” section which kept questions about St.Valentine’Day and it gave pupils to work in pair discussing questions. Then we had interesting and joyful games like «The sweetest kiss» the girls with blinded eyes should kissed a heart had been drawn in the poster, «firm persuasion” it was kind of imaginary work one boy persuaded three girls to have a date with him by paying compliments to them and the smile of girls meant consent. Really it was so fun that everyone in class burst in laugh. Another funny game was”say and kiss”the students looking to each other had announced one thing on his or her external didn’t guessing that the should kiss what they”ve said. Three other games were «trust me “find your pair” and “chair game. In conclusion I want to say the goal of this project was to extend the understanding of students about this holiday, peace and love ,to improve their English, to improve the skills of working in pair and in team, widen their imagination. We took great pleasure and learnt a lot from each other.
