On the 10thof October, 25 Access students we two alumni Zeboniso Murodova and Aziza Shamurodova SUSI alumni celebrated International Girl's Day with Kushoiyon ACCESS student. Day of the Girl is a day to celebrate and advocate for the rights of girls around the world. Girls have a unique ability to change the world and the lives of those around them. One of the best parts of my job is collaborating with other alumni of the US State Department program. Together with SUSI alumna Aziza we prepared very fantastic activities. Activity 1 was called Hero Tree, each girl wrote their female heroes ad shared with other girls. I was so happy the majority of girls wrote my name in their tree. The next activity was encouraging their self-confidence by drawing their self-portraits. Students wrote a positive saying about themselves. What about the ACCESS boys? Active participation of boys and their support is very necessary and Aziza Shamurodova gave cards 10 Access boys to write some positive messages for their girls on the card. In the end, they read their cards to their girls.
That day I loved my job very much. I was inspired by great women leaders during my exchange programs in the USA, Aziza was one of my students from the 5th grade. I taught her English, leadership skills and she was an active volunteer she was my follower, Now she is beside me as a leader. All the skills she obtained in her school and university years helped her to be the finalist of the SUSI program. She did her SUSI experience presentation and as a part of her project, she gave gifts to all the girls. Now she is confident with high self-esteem inspires ad to encourage other girls to get an education as it is the key to the bright future.
Happy International Girl's Day!
