Photojournalism workshop in our school

On the 2nd and 3rd of February school #1 hosted Photojournalism 2.0 for 5 teachers and 15 students from schools # 1 and 2 in Sarband town. In these two days we learned basic camera skills, taking photos, principles of Photojournalism and how to write Photo Stories. It was very useful for us. Specifically in day 1, students and teachers learned about what are photojournalism and its principles and ethics. Students were introduced school photojournalism and how to create school newsletter. Trainers used all materials which they got from training. A special guest Vali Berdi the editor of from local news paper ‘ Nuri Sarband” was invited to our training to talk about how to write articles and he shared with great pleasure some of his experience in the field of journalism. His speech was very important for students they got notion about photojournalism professions and its advantages and disadvantages. Mr. Berdi also discuss about some norms and ethics of photojournalism professions. He gave them two great examples to discuss Mr Berdi promised to help students to edit their school newsletter. Most importantly; they learned basic rules of how to write photo stories and how to edit them with 7 ways of editing. Students also learned basic knowledge of how to use digital cameras and how to resize photos in MS Picture Manager. On the second part of the training trainers demonstrated sessions such as what is news and how to write short news and trainers identifies the tool Upside-down Pyramid and they encouraged students to use this tool to write their articles. Other materials also were used as how to write photo essays. On the day two students and teachers were introduced with iEARN web page and opening accounts and joining to World Youth News.The second day was very fruitful and full of practice. Trainers promoted iEARN web page and its projects. First, students shared their opinions about two great iearn projects we participated such as SUE ( school Uniform Exchange and folk tale project. The result of this folk tale project was that we published our Tajik folk tales in English. Students shared their experience.
